Many families and parents are suffering today. If kids had skills to bring in money from home, a lot of it would go to help the family. They might even teach their parents how to do what they can do.
Some of the parents of these kids might have a local business, and the child would be able to apply her skills to help bring local prospects into the store. Almost nobody uses Yellow Pages any more. They go to Google, instead.
The local companies that have learned to fare well in today's economy are usually the ones who have either figured out how to use the Internet to bring them business, or they hire somebody to do it for them. It is actually not that tough, because local businesses are not competing on a global level.
